Man Utd have a lot of holes in the current squad that needs to be sorted out. Ruben Amorim is struggling to get the team to play the style of football he expects them to and it is not necessarily possible without the right kind of profiles.

The Portuguese tactician is trying deploy a 3-4-3 system, something that served him very well during his time with Sporting CP.

However, there are many players in the squad who aren’t necessarily suited to playing this style of football.

Amorim will surely want to bring in players who can help him build his project at Man Utd but at the same time, he will also have to let go of some of the players to ensure that the squad is sustainable in the long run.

Now, as per The Mail, the Red Devils prepare to axe a trio of players among others to fund money to sign a new left wing-back. The players mentioned in the report include Casemiro, who has Saudi interest, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen.

Should Man Utd be able to make the sales, the report adds that they would try and make a move for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez. The Hungarian has impressed with his performances for Andoni Iraola’s side for some time now.

Kerkez is valued at around £50m. The 21-year-old is very young and has the physical capabilities to fulfil the demands of playing in a wing-back role, which is arguably the toughest role to play in Ruben Amorim’s system.

Last month, he was rock solid in the LB role and helped Bournemouth keep a clean sheet in the 3-0 win at Old Trafford.

In November, the former AZ Alkmaar defender provided two assists in the win over Guardiola’s Manchester City and in October, he helped the team earn all three points against title contenders, Arsenal.

It remains to be seen if Man Utd are able to make so many sales in the January transfer window and convince the Cherries to sell Kerkez mid-season, especially when they are enjoying a brilliant run in the Premier League.
