Man Utd are keen to ensure they don’t make the same mistake with Chris Rigg. As per Graeme Bailey via HITC, Manchester United are preparing to secure a strategic midfield signing like the teenage sensation.
Manchester United scouts have been following Rigg since he was 15-years-old. Their scouts see him as having the potential to be the next Roy Keane and that is immense praise for a player who is yet to turn 18 yet.
Predominantly a central midfielder, Rigg has the ability to play both in attacking midfield and defensive midfield. In seven appearances so far this season, he has scored a solitary goal but his performances are more than just stats.
Rigg has a contract with Sunderland until 2027 and the Black Cats will command a significant transfer fee knowing the player’s ceiling. It remains to be seen if Man Utd meet the asking price of the player if they want to sign him.
Man Utd will want to ensure they do not make the same mistake they did with Bellingham and pull out all stops to sign Chris Rigg. This promises to be an interesting transfer saga and let’s see how it goes.
