Manchester United have already conceded 29 goals in just 20 games in the Premier League this season despite spending a lot to reinforce the defense over the years.
In the summer, they splashed the cash to sign World Cup winner, Raphael Varane, and the Red Devils have the most expensive defender ever, Maguire, in the form of their captain.
Still, things have been poor at the back and reports suggest that the Old Trafford outfit want to sign yet another central defender by luring Barcelona’s Ronald Araujo.
According to Sport (press image provided below), the Uruguayan international earns a very low salary at the Nou Camp and wants an appropriate deal for the renewal.
The renowned Spanish news source have mentioned that Man Utd have already called the 22-year-old central defender and they are prepared to agree a huge salary and pay a good transfer fee to secure his signature from the Catalan club.
It is claimed that the 20-time English champions are willing to offer him a contract that will make him earn way more than the figures Barcelona can afford to pay. Reports suggest that it could take a fee of 45 million euros (£37.5million) to sign Araujo (El Nacional).
Ivorian international, Eric Bailly, is linked with a move away from Old Trafford (TMW). In such a scenario, the South American center half could come in to replace the African star.
