Manchester United are willing to secure their fifth signing of the summer to improve the midfield and the name of Manuel Ugarte is on top of their wish-list.
As per today’s version of The Guardian, Man Utd are prepared to wait and complete a last minute deal to seal the signing of Ugarte for a fee of under £51million.
News – Man Utd prepared to agree £35million deal to finally secure £78,000 a week star exit
The Red Devils have already agreed personal terms with the Uruguayan international and have the funds readily available to get his signing done.
However, United are playing the long game with Paris Saint-Germain, who do not need the 23-year-old play breaker having already signed his replacement in the form of Joao Felix.
The South American star was not part of the PSG squad in the Ligue 1 opener and the Old Trafford outfit believe the French champions will eventually drop the asking fee of £51million.
The Guardian claim Man Utd are willing to listen to offers for Casemiro, McTominay, Sancho, Lindelof and Antony. However, they do not need cash from the sales of the said players to fund the transfer of Manuel Ugarte.
Therefore, Ten Hag’s team are even prepared to wait for the transfer deadline day to finally sign the former Sporting CP destroyer.
The transfer window will shut down next week on Friday, August 30, and two days later, the Red Devils will collide against arch rivals, Liverpool, in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
Therefore, ideally, Man Utd should secure the signing of Manuel Ugarte well in time so that he can train and be prepared to take part in the contest against the Anfield club. What do you think?
