With World Champion, Lisandro Martinez, out injured, Manchester United are searching for a new center back and the name of Sebastian Caceres is in the focus.
According to Fanaticos, the Uruguayan international could end up moving to Europe with top clubs interested in hiring his services.
The Colombian news source have mentioned that Man Utd are prepared to splash the cash to secure the signing of the South American defender.
It is stated that even the likes of Tottenham, West Ham United and Fulham are willing to pay a good amount to lure Caceres.
The 24-year-old star’s current contract with CF America will expire in December 2024 and Fanaticos claim he would be allowed to leave for a fee of just $5million i.e. around £4.1million.
He has already made seven appearances for the senior international side and was impressive during the latest international break.
After a wait of 22 years, Uruguay defeated Brazil in the South American World Cup qualification fixture and Caceres featured for full 90 minutes in the contest that ended 2-0.
Harry Maguire’s return to form has helped Man Utd big time lately and in the presence of Varane and Lindelof, Ten Hag does not need to splash a heavy amount to lure a new central defender.
Let’s hope Lisandro Martinez returns to full fitness soon.
