Man Utd prepared £25.6million offer in summer, could return to finally sign star – Report

Manchester United were linked with several quality midfielders in the summer transfer window but they ended up signing none.

The center of the park needs to be reinforced as soon as possible and reports indicate that once again, Croatian international, Marcelo Brozovic, is in the lime light.

Transfer: Man Utd backed to agree ‘unbelievable’ signing of £203,000-a-week star

Back in July, La Repubblica (via FCInter1908) reported that Man Utd were prepared to make an offer worth 30 million euros (£25.6m) to lure the versatile midfielder from Inter Milan.

However, that did not happen and the player ended up staying with the Nerazzurri. Yesterday, La Gazzetta Dello Sport that the Red Devils evaluated the player in the summer but postponed the purchase. Now, it is stated that they could return to finally sign the play breaker from the Serie A champions.

The 28-year-old’s current contract will expire in 9 months and Inter do not want to lose him for free. The renowned Italian news source have mentioned that so far, the Italian giants have failed to agree an extension with Brozovic, who wants at least a deal worth 6 million euros per season.

The 66-capped international was a key member of the Croatian side that reached the final of the 2018 World Cup. Last season, he was an integral part of Conte’s squad that lifted the Scudetto after a wait of 11 years.

Man Utd do not have a proven quality defensive midfield star. The only natural DM is Nemanja Matic, who will turn 34 next year and he rarely starts under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The Serbian international must be replaced.

In your view, should Man Utd move in to finally sign Marcelo Brozovic in the winter or should they wait to lure him on a bosman next summer?
