If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are looking to sign a new goal keeper in the summer and a top Premier League player is on their radar.

According to an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Man Utd ready move to sign Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez who has been top form this season.

Transfer: Serious Man Utd could agree £30million asking price to seal signing – Reports

The source have mentioned that the Red Devils want to keep Dean Henderson at the club and sign replacements for De Gea and Sergio Romero. In such a scenario, Martinez has impressed the Old Trafford bosses and they are preparing a blockbuster move to hire his services.

The 28-year-old star won the FA Cup with Arsenal last season and also helped them lift the Community Shield trophy this term before moving to Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

In his first four league games, the South American shot stopper helped the Villa Park outfit keep 3 clean sheets and conceded just 2 goals. Therefore, in October 2020, he deservedly earned his first call up from the national side, however, he is yet to make his debut for Argentina.

The Birmingham based side were on the brink of relegation last season but this time around, they are fighting to earn European qualification and a lot of credit for that goes to Emiliano Martinez, who is proving to be the signing of the season.

The in form star has kept 14 clean sheets in 27 PL outings under the management of Dean Smith, who thinks that the former Gunner is a ‘fantastic’ goalie (Goal), and is in the running to win the Golden Glove award. At the moment, Man City’s Ederson is in the lead with 16 clean sheets but Villa have played three fewer games than the Sky Blues.

For Man Unied, Henderson, who had a fantastic season with Sheffield on loan last term, has impressed under Solskjaer and he deserves to be the No.1. Martinez mainly warmed the bench at the Emriates and might not want to be the second choice at Old Trafford after performing consistently well for Villa.

In your opinion, who should Ole sign to improve the goalkeeping department?
