Two days ago, we covered a report from Germany stating that United have started talks to hire the services of the Netherlands forward, who plays for Bologna.
As per a story published by Sport Italia today, a big club is the leader in the race to lure the 22-year-old striker and that seems to be Manchester United.
The news source have mentioned that Man Utd are ready to move in to sign Zirkzee, who is valued at £42.9m (50 million euros) by the Serie A side.
It is reported that Bayern Munich, who sold the player for just 8.5 million euros, have the first option to buy him back for a fee of 40 million euros.
However, it must be remembered that the German champions agreed a deal worth 100 million euros to sign Harry Kane from Spurs in the summer and he is scoring for fun in the Bundesliga.
So, they do not need Zirkzee and the stance would place Man Utd in a pole position. Sport Italia claim the 20-time English champions could meet the £42.9m asking fee to secure the signing.
Italian reporter, Gianluca Di Marzio, also claims the center forward could move to the Premier League and not Bayern because they already have the England captain. Moreover, the famous journalist praised the player and stated (Soccernews.nl).
“He (Zirkzee) is so strong, has so many qualities. In Serie A, after Lautaro Martinez, he is the striker who leaves the best impression in Italy.”
He has netted seven goals in nineteen league appearances for Bologna in the current campaign. Do you think £42.9m-rated Zirkzee is good enough improve Man Utd?
