Ruben Amorim is looking to spearhead a new project at Old Trafford and the Portuguese tactician will be looking to make potential reinforcements in the upcoming summer. However, he will have to make sales to bring in new faces.
Now, as per Bild, Man Utd are ready to offer an unsettling fee to secure the key signing of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha. The 24-year-old German is one player that the Bundesliga club do not want to sell.
Nmecha did not set the stage alight upon his move to Dortmund but he slowly yet surely established himself as a key part of the team and even made a breakthrough with the German national team.
However, the player suffered a ligament injury at the end of January and has since been out.
Man Utd are willing to pay around £40m to secure the signature of Nmecha and this is a fee that Dortmund could find unsettling. The Yellow-Black are enduring a very bad domestic season and may miss out on Champions League football.
Should they end up losing out on the same, Dortmund would almost be forced into making massive sales in the summer.
It will not be easy for the German club to make these decisions and Nmecha could be one of those on the chopping block.
Nmecha has the perfect legs to play in the midfield in Ruben Amorim’s system. He is still very young and has a huge future in the game and Man Utd would do very well to sign him. Let’s wait and see how it plays out going forward.
