Man Utd send strong offer to finally sign £320,000-a-week star – Report

Dembele and Griezmann Barcelona

The winter transfer window will open tomorrow and already, Manchester United are linked with a host of players. Once again, the name of Ousmane Dembele is in the lime light.

The French star’s deal with Barcelona will expire in June 2022 and reports indicate that his talks of renewal with the Catalan giants have stalled because of the huge demands. So, in January, he can agree a pre-contract with any foreign club for a free transfer.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to bid to sign £38million player – Report

Today, renowned Spanish sources like Sport and ABC (press images provided at the end) have published interesting stories on the transfer saga.

Sport claim that Barca are tired of the demands made by the player and his agent and they are close to saying ‘enough is enough’. It is claimed that Man Utd have been in contact with his representatives for months and have sent a firm offer to finally sign him.

Over at ABC, it is claimed that Dembele’s agent has asked Barcelona to agree a new deal that will make his client earn a mammoth salary of 40 million euros per season and also get a signing on bonus of 20 million euros. Such figures are totally unaffordable for a club plagued by a serious economic crisis.

It is mentioned that on his current deal, the Les Bleus playmaker is earning £320,000-a-week (20 million euros per season) and it is baffling that he is asking for mammoth pay rise despite suffering eleven injuries since moving to the Nou Camp.

Even this season, the former Dortmund attacker has mostly spent time on the treatment table and so far, he has only started 4 games in all competitions.

Man Utd spent heavily to reinforce their offensive department last summer and in all honesty, there is absolutely no need to sign a highly injury prone attacker in the form of Ousmane Dembele.

  1. I really do hope that this is just media bull or his agent trying to force Barcelona’s hand because he isn’t worth it or what we need. Forwards can’t convert chances if we aren’t creating them and giving the ball away in midfield. I don’t think he fits Rangnicks style and going by his record he will play less than Pogba has. Please avoid
