Manchester United have been linked with Norwegian international Erling Haaland for quite some time and the latest reports are intriguing.
According to The Guardian, Man Utd and Juve head a queue of more than 20 clubs to hire the services of the highly rated RB Salzburg forward, who has been in red hot form in the current campaign.
Transfer: Man United could move to sign forward with £96million clause – Face competition
Renowned journalist, Fabrizio Romano, has claimed that the Red Devils have scouted the player on more than a few occasions this term and Salzburg are open to selling their prized asset for 60 million euros (£52million) in the summer transfer window.
In the current campaign, so far, Haaland has netted 12 goals and provided 6 assists in just 11 Austrian Bundesliga appearances. Overall, in 16 outings, the 19-year-old striker has directly contributed in no fewer than 28 goals (22 goals and 6 assists)
He is currently leading the goal-scoring charts in the UEFA Champions League. The teenager netted a hat-trick on Match Day 1 vs Genk, scored a goal against reigning champions Liverpool at Anfield on Match Day 2 and netted a brace vs Italian giants Napoli on Match Day 3.
Clearly, he is one of the most hottest properties around at the moment and Man Utd should push to beat competition and secure his signature as soon as possible.
As far as Solskjaer’s current strike-force is concerned, the Norwegian manager lacks quality and depth up front, especially after letting Lukaku and Sanchez leave in the summer.
The Old Trafford legend needs to spend wisely and improve the department in the winter transfer window.
