Man Utd are a club that are going through a difficult period. It is quite difficult being Ruben Amorim at the moment who is handling an almost impossible project and has a squad with players who are not at the level expected at a club with this history.
The upcoming summer transfer window is in all likelihood set to make or break Ruben Amorim’s aspirations at Old Trafford and it is going to be even more difficult considering the fact that the club is not financially blessed.

One reliable avenue for Man Utd in the summer could be going shopping in Portugal from Sporting CP as Ruben Amorim would be well aware of the kind of players and what they can add to his current squad. Now, as per Caught Offside, Man Utd are once again interested in Goncalo Inacio.
Inacio is a Portuguese international who has been very impressive for Sporting for quite a few years now. One of the most important players for Ruben Amorim during their time together, it will come as no surprise to see the coach sign his former player.
Valued at around £37.5m, Inacio would command a decent fee but not something very exorbitant that the Red Devils cannot afford. It is the perfect kind of signing to spearhead a project and Man Utd will have to try and get this done in the summer.
Ideal defender for a back three!
The first thing that catches the eye about Inacio is how well-rounded he is as a central defender. His performances have often been very assuring at the back and he uses his physicality well to handle himself in a back three.
Inacio is also very adept with the ball at his feet. He might not be as expansive as Lisandro Martinez with his passing but the Portuguese international knows when to play a line-breaking pass and when to keep it simple and has a good left to pick his teammates out.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for Inacio and if Man Utd make a concrete attempt to sign him this upcoming summer. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
