Man Utd submit proposal to sign £280,000-a-week star – Corriere dello Sport

De Ligt and Van Dijk

Manchester United have been interested in Matthijs de Ligt for some time and the reports coming from Italy indicate that the Red Devils have submitted a proposal.

A few days ago, Corriere dello Sport reported that the Old Trafford outfit are ready to exploit the player’s contract situation at Juventus to secure his signing.

Transfer: Man United have agreed deal in principle to seal £70million signing – Star now wants OT move

Yesterday, the Italian media outlet covered another story (news image provided below) and revealed that Man Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea have made proposals to hire the services of the Netherlands star.

Apart from the English clubs, it is further stated that French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, and Spanish giants, Barcelona, are looking to secure the signature of the Dutch defender as well.

Chelsea have already lost Christensen and Rudiger and target De Ligt to improve their backline. At Anfield, Klopp could reunite the 22-year-old with Van Dijk.

On the other hand, Ten Hag wants to reunite with the youngster, who captained his Ajax side to the domestic double three years ago.

CdS claim that the 20-time English champions have less appeal as compared to the Blues and the Reds because there will be no Champions League football at Old Trafford next season.

De Ligt is already earning a mammoth salary of £280,000-a-week (Goal) i.e. £90,000-a-week more than the salary of club captain, Harry Maguire (The Mirror), who was terrible in the last campaign.

In your opinion, should the 37-capped international replace the Three Lions star at Old Trafford to start with Raphael Varane in the central defense next season?
