Manchester United have a number of issues they would have tried to address back in the winter transfer window but they were only able to sign Patrick Dorgu to provide cover in the wing-back position without making any reinforcements in the attack.
Goalscoring has been the major issue for Manchester United so far this season, with the strikers in the team failing to find the back of the net frequently.

The Red Devils could have signed a player for the front three who has a regular knack of finding goals.
Now, as per SPORT, Man Utd submitted a £58million offer to sign La Masia graduate, Fermin Lopez, from Barcelona.
The Spanish international has been in excellent form in 2025 and is the kind of player who would suit Amorim’s front three.
Fermin Lopez is a very different midfielder from the kind of profiles that usually come through La Masia at Barcelona. The Spaniard is a player who is a natural goalscorer but that isn’t to say that he doesn’t have the technical ability on the ball.
The 21-year-old midfielder struggled at the start of the season without getting much game time and with an injury hampering his progress, he could not settle into Flick’s team. Since the beginning of 2025 though, Fermin has not looked back.
It was not just Manchester United who submitted a bid to sign the La Masia graduate with Aston Villa also wanting to sign him.
However, Fermin Lopez’s only determined target is succeeding at Barcelona and he is not even looking the offers that come in, there he decided to reject the advances of the premier League sides.
It must be said that very few clubs have the ability to retain homegrown talent like Barcelona does and most of those players go on to become club legends in Catalunya, almost never playing for another club or moving only in the fag ends of their career.
Thus, Man Utd might struggle to sign Fermin Lopez and let’s wait and see how it plays out.
