Manchester United desperately need to reinforce the No.6 position in the midfield and once again, a familiar name is back in the lime light.
A few days ago, Manchester World exclusively revealed that Man Utd have approached Barca to secure the signing of Frenkie de Jong.

The news source mentioned that the Red Devils would be open to sealing a deal worth £40m to lure the Dutch midfielder to Old Trafford.
More recently, Spanish source, Nacional, have reported that Man Utd have moved in with an offer worth £42.9m (50 million euros) to sign De Jong.
However, the Blaugrana have decided to turn the offer down and would only sell for a package worth 85 million euros i.e. around £72.9m.
The Catalan media outlet state Barca are willing to negotiate an initial fee of 70 million euros and the remaining 15 million euros in add-ons to finally transfer De Jong to Man Utd.
Two years back, Ten Hag was close to reuniting with his favorite midfielder when United reached an agreement worth 80 million euros with the Nou Camp club. However, the player decided to stay put.
This time around, Man Utd will have to agree an even higher fee to sign De Jong, who has now reached his peak.
