The French news source have mentioned that the Old Trafford outfit could announce the arrival of the 53-year-old manager after the European Championships.

Talks have been progressing well and an agreement could be swiftly found between all the parties involved.

As per FM, the appointment of Southgate at Man Utd is the wish of Dave Brailsford and Jim Ratcliffe.

Ten Hag deserves to be sacked after a terrible campaign that may see United fail to earn European Qualification.

He splashed a lot of cash to lure the likes of Antony, Martinez, Casemiro, Malacia, Hojlund, Onana and Mount but the team has gone backwards.

Apart from Martinez, no player has managed to consistently perform well and unfortunately, the Argentine international has been highly injury prone.

Will Gareth Southgate be able to turn things around at Man Utd? Only time will tell but renowned supporter and presenter, Andy Goldstein, does not want the England manager at Old Trafford.

The talkSPORT presenter said that the appointment would be a huge mistake.

The £5million a year manager helped the Three Lions earn 4th place at the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and won the silver medal at the Euro 2020.

Do you think Southgate is good enough to replace Erik ten Hag at Man Utd?
