Old-Trafford

Manchester United have not improved their central midfield for a very long time and lately, reports suggest that they are interested in Barcelona’s Gavi.

The youngster’s current deal at the Nou Camp will expire in less than 18 months and so far, the Catalan giants have failed to reach an agreement to extend his stay.

Transfer: Man United have made strong offer to sign £34million star – Face competition

According to a report covered by Mundo Deportivo yesterday (press image provided below), this week, the La Liga club will enter high level talks in order to agree extensions for Gavi and Araujo.

The Spanish source have claimed that the Barca duo are on the radar at Old Trafford.

It is stated that Gavi’s current deal has a release clause of 50 million euros (£42million) and Man Utd and other big teams are tempted to activate it to get his signing done.

The 17-year-old is a regular starter for Barcelona under Xavi Hernandez and has already made four appearances for the senior national side under Luis Enrique.

Gavi is a versatile talent, naturally he is a central midfielder but he has proved to be effective on the left wing as well. This term, so far, he has directly contributed in 5 goals in 16 league starts for Barca.

Regarding Araujo, MD claim that Man Utd have closely followed the Uruguayan international, who has a release clause of 200 million in his contract.
