Former Tottenhem Hostpur shot-stopper, Paul Robinson, has backed the Red Devils to hire the services of the Colchoneros star. He stated:
“Listen, what saw at the World Cup what a world-class player he was.”
“Griezmann would be an amazing signing. He is still a world-class player. He is a big player for the big games. If United keep heading the way that they are he would be a very useful signing.”
The former Barcelona star is a versatile talent, who can effectively play in the No.10 role and even as a center forward if needed.
In the current campaign, the £231,000 a week playmaker has netted 7 goals and provided 9 assists for Atletico Madrid under the management of Diego Simeone.
At the FIFA World Cup, he set up the winning goal against Denmark in the group stages. Moreover, he provided the assists for both goals that helped France beat England in the quarter-finals in Qatar.
Not to forget, Griezmann was an extremely important member of the French squad that lifted the World Cup Trophy in 2018.
The ex Real Sociedad attacker is a proven star who has the quality to improve the Man United offense. However, just like Weghorst, he would be another short-term signing as he would turn 32 in March.
