Manchester United have been linked with Denzel Dumfries for quite some and once again, the Dutch international is in the focus.
According to a story covered by La Gazzetta Dello Sport yesterday (press image provided below), the Red Devils, Chelsea and Newcastle United are interested in signing the Inter Milan star.
The famous Milan based news source have revealed that an offer of 40 million euros could be enough to lure the player but an offer of 50 million euros (£43.8m) would be accepted immediately.
It is reported that Dumfries wants to move to the Premier League and has never hidden the desire to play in England.
The Netherlands star is a versatile player, who has proved to be effective as a right back, right midfielder and even as a right winger.
In the last campaign, the former Eredivisie man directly contributed in 12 goals for Inter Milan (5 goals and 7 assists) and helped them win both the domestic cup competitions.
He was impressive at the FIFA World Cup under Van Gaal but has not been able to consistently perform well for the Serie A side this term. It must be noted that the Dutchman has warmed the bench in the last three games in all competitions.
Man Utd do lack a fullback, who can regularly contribute in the attacking third and therefore, it is not surprising that Ten Hag is interested in luring his compatriot.
Have your say – Should United bid £43.8m to sign Dumfries before the closure of the January transfer window?
