Neves has been fantastic for Benfica in the current campaign and top clubs are after him. Fernandes heavily praised the young play breaker and told Sport TV (via O Jogo):

“Joao has a lot of quality. He has a huge margin for progression, he is a very humble, hard-working player, a good listener, who likes to learn. He already knows a lot, he has an incredible reading of the game for his age, a very good ability to read and understand the game”.

When asked whether the Old Trafford club should sign the 19-year-old starlet, Bruno said:

“It has to be the Man Utd coach (Erik ten Hag) who says whether there is a place or not. But he’s an excellent player and an excellent kid. I would love to have him by my side.”

Reigning Liga Nos champions, Benfica, are currently on top of the table and Neves has been rock solid in the DM role.

United’s first choice defensive midfielder is Casemiro, who is currently out injured and his best days are over.

The veteran Brazilian could be replaced sooner rather than later and Man Utd should splash the cash to sign Joao Neves. What do you think?
