Manchester United have already started looking at transfers for the future despite the window being shut and the club having just spent £220.4m on arrivals this summer.

The Red Devils brought in Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Mazraoui and Manuel Ugarte.

We covered a story yesterday that Man Utd are preparing a move to steal the signing of Juan Cabal, who joined Juventus in the summer transfer window for £10million. The Colombian left-back has played three Serie A games for the Old Lady so far and caught the eye since pre-season.

It’s hardly been months since Cabal joined Juventus and there is already interest in him over his next move. As per Tutto Juve, Man Utd have been told that a fee of around £25.2m would be enough to sign the 23-year-old.

Cabal has a contract with Juventus until 2029. With five years on his contract, it makes no sense as to why the Italian giants would let him leave for around £25.2m when he would be worth much more down the line.

Juventus are a traditional, Italian powerhouse. They aren’t a club that acts as a feeder to others by nurturing young talent and moving them on for profit. This transfer does not make sense from any angle as of today.

It is true that Man Utd need a left-back reinforcement. Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia have hardly remained fit over the past couple of seasons and as good as Diogo Dalot has been, he isn’t a natural on the left side of defence.

It is too early to make a call on Juan Cabal even if he was available as the report claims, Man Utd should not make a move for him before seeing how he turns out at Juventus. If not, the club can always look at a different left-back who can bolster the squad for seasons to come.
