Manchester United are linked with several talented players and one of them is Sporting’s versatile playmaker Pedro Goncalves aka Pote.
According to Jornal de Noticias (press image provide below) Man United are interested in hiring the services of the 22-year-old playmaker as a long term replacement for Paul Pogba.
Transfer: Deal close – £80,000-a-week star to agree terms to secure Man United exit
However, the Portuguese outlet have mentioned that player does not plan to leave the club this month and wants to help them win the Liga Nos title. At the moment, Sporting are on top of the table and Pote is the leading goalscorer.
Jornal de Noticias claim that only an irrefutable proposal would get his signing done immediately and for that the amount of 60 million euros (£54.4million) will be required to activate the clause in his contract.
The Red Devils lured Bruno Fernandes from the Lions last year and the Portuguese international has proved to be world class at Old Trafford.
The Seleccao star scored and created goals for fun for the Primeira Liga club and Pote has managed to replace him effectively.
Naturally, the youngster is a central midfielder but this term, he has mostly played on the right flank and excelled big time. In 11 league appearances thus far, he has already scored 11 goals (83 mins per goal) under the management of Ruben Amorim.
Right wing is perhaps the weakest link in Solskjaer’s attacking midfield and Pote’s versatility could largely improve the offense. Should Man Utd splash £54.4million to sign him this month?
