Man Utd want new forward, could move to sign £26million star – Report

Manchester United need to sign a proven quality center forward for the long run and the latest name in the lime light is that of Andre Silva.

According to Sky Germany, Man Utd want to sign a new No.9 to strengthen their strike-force and they are intensively observing the performances of the Portuguese international.

Transfer: Man United prepared to move with £61million bid to sign star – Report

The Red Devils have been interested in Erling Haaland but the renowned news source have mentioned that as a cheaper alternative, Silva could be lured.

The 25-year-old’s current contract with the Frankfurt will expire in 2023 and it is reported that the Bundesliga side are demanding at least 30 million euros (£26million) from him sale.

Keeping in view Silva’s form this season, the above mentioned price tag seems quite low.

The former Porto star has been brilliant for the German side. In all competitions, so far, he has featured in 22 appearances and directly contributed in 24 goals (19 goals and 5 assists) this term.

He is only behind Lewandowski and three goals ahead of Haaland in the Bundesliga top scorers chart. In the last four league games, the Selecao forward has scored 6 goals to help his team earn maximum points.

As far as his international career is concerned, so far, Silva has featured in 37 games for the senior Portuguese side, scored 16 goals and provided 4 assists (Transfermarkt).

At Old Trafford, Martial is not a natural No.9 and veteran Cavani’s best days are a thing of the past. In such a scenario, a top center forward is required. In your view, should Man Utd splash £26million to sign Andre Silva?
