Manchester United have been linked with Swiss international Denis Zakaria for some time and the latest reports going on in the media are intriguing.
According to Sky Germany, Man Utd want to attack Borussia Monchengladbach to sign the defensive midfielder, who has been highly impressive for the Bundesliga side in the current season.
Transfer: £310,000-a-week star would like to sign for Manchester United – Report
The renowned source have revealed that the Red Devils face competition from top European clubs like Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Liverpool.
The 23-year-old star, who has so far won the third most duels in the Bundeslia this term, is valued at around (£46million) 50 million euros (Sky Germany) and his current contract with the German side will expire next year.
At Old Tarfford, we really need to splash the cash to strenthen the midfield department in the summer.
In the winter transfer window last year, we allowed Belgian international Maroaune Fellaini to leave and did not replace him.
Last summer, we let Spanish star Ander Herrera leave for free to join Paris Saint-Germain and did not evem replace the creative midfielder either.
In this year’s January transfer window, once again, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer failed to sign anyone to improve the central/defensive midfield. In the current campaign, the likes of McTominay, Matic and particularly Pogba have missed games due to injuries and we have seriously lacked quality and depth in the midfield.
So, without question, the Red Devils must invest to reinforce the center of the park in the next window.
Oue first choice DM Nemanja Matic is now a veteran, who is past his best and must be replaced. In such a scenario, we should move as quickly as possible to sign Denis Zakaria, who is considered as a ‘complete’ footballer by Borussia Monchengladbach manager Marco Rose (Sky Germany).
A defensive midfielder is really needed to compliment the players in that department. Denis Zakaria is the missing piece to the puzzle.
Although the club signed Ighalo another forceful striker in the mould of Adam Traore must be signed to bolster the striking department.
