Having spent so many years of his managerial career in Portugal, it will come as no surprise to see Ruben Amorim have a number of players from the league on his radar. After all, some of the most talented stars play there.
Manchester United are moving into a new era under Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese tactician is tasked with doing an impossible task – something no manager since Sir Alex Ferguson has managed to do with the Red Devils.

Amorim will surely have to bring in players he wants to remodel the team and it remains to be seen how Sir Jim Ratcliffe & co. back him in the transfer market. Now, as per Caught Offside, Man Utd want to sign Orkun Kokcu.
The report adds that the Red Devils might be able to sign for cheaper than his release clause and that Benfica might agree to a lower fee to let him leave.
However, as per Corrreio da Manha (via Paisley Gates), that is not the case. Kokcu has a release clause of around £124m in his current contract and that is exactly the fee the Eagles are demanding.
That is an extraordinary price for a player who is definitely talented but Manchester United will be keen to not do another ‘Enzo Fernandez-esque mistake’ like Chelsea did in the market.
Turkiye have one of the most talented young crops coming through, Kokcu is one of them. He would suit Ruben Amorim’s system and will be able to add a lot of control in a possession heavy system.
It remains to be seen how Man Utd go about signing Kokcu. Let’s wait and see how things go and if Benfica entertains negotiations in the winter window.
