Another day, another report linking Manchester United with a move to sign Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
According to a story covered by Sport today (news image provided below), the Catalan giants could gain cash worth 140 million euros if they are able to get good fees from the sale of De Jong, Dest and Depay.
Transfer: Man United ready to pay £67.7million for signing – Decision made
The Spanish news source have mentioned that the Dutch midfielder has the most suitors but Man Utd will bid the strongest to get his signing done.
New manager, Erik ten Hag, wants to reunite with the former Ajax player to start the new project at Old Trafford.
The Catalan media outlet state that no player is non-transferable at the Nou Camp and Barca will accept an offer of close to 90 million euros (£76million) for De Jong. The club have made it clear that they will not offer any sort of discount.
The 25-year-old midfielder won the Eredivisie title and the Dutch Cup in the 2018-19 season and also helped Ajax reach the last four of the Champions League. For Barca, in three seasons, he has only won one Copa Del Rey trophy.
At Old Trafford, Man Utd seriously lack quality and depth in the central midfield and they need to replace the likes of Matic and Pogba (possibly) as well.
In your opinion, should Man Utd bid £76million to sign De Jong?
