Manchester United are linked with more than a few youngsters and Newcastle United’s Sean Longstaff is in the lime light as well.
According to multiple media outlets, the Red Devils are seriously interested in signing the 21-year-old England international, who broke into the Magpies’ first team this season.
As per The Times, Man Utd will make an official approach to lure the midfielder and a bid is expected to be made soon. As far as his price tag is concerned, The Mail and The Independent have reported that Longstaff is rated at £20million.
Transfer: Report – Man United ready to move in for £60million star
The youngster has excelled big time at Tyneside under the management of former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez.
He started eight Premier League games in the recently concluded campaign, scored a goal against Burnley and provided a crucial assist against Manchester City to help Newcastle beat the champions at St. James’ Park.
Moreover, he also found the net versus Blackburn Rovers in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup.
The Newcastle starlet is mainly a creative center midfield player but he has shown that he can be effective in the attacking (AM) and defensive (DM) areas as well.
With Ander Herrera leaving Old Trafford, United need to strengthen the midfield department this summer and a versatile talent like Longstaff, would be a great signing. I do think that he has got the quality to get into Solskjaer’s starting XI next season.
Will never happen firstly he’s not for sale. Secondly if Ashley messes us over again and accepts a bid Longstaff will reject it he’s already said his future is at Newcastle
