According to a story covered by Sport, the Red Devils’ new boss, Erik ten Hag, will be handed a transfer kitty worth 250 million euros and he will use the funds to reunite with Frenkie de Jong.
The renowned Spanish news source have mentioned that Man Utd will submit an offer for the Dutch international, who excelled under Ten Hag during his time with Ajax.
In the 2018-19 campaign, De Jong was a key member of the Ajax squad that won the domestic double and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League after beating giants like Real Madrid and Juventus.
So, Barca agreed a deal worth 86 million euros (£72million) to hire his services, and Sport claim that his valuation has not dropped. It is stated that the Catalan club want to hold on to the 24-year-old star.
In the current season, so far, the 40-capped international, who can effectively play in the defensive and creative midfield roles, has scored 3 goals and provided as many assists in 25 starts (La Liga).
