Manchester United are consistently linked with French international Ousmane Dembele, whose future at Barcelona has been up in the air for some time.
According to Mundo Deportivo (press image provided below), the World Cup winning playmaker told Xavi that he wants to continue at the Nou Camp. However, the player’s agent has other ideas and wants to take him away from the club for a better deal.
The famous Spanish media source have mentioned that Barca have not given up on agreeing fresh terms with the 24-year-old star but the patience is running out. They suspect that the player has already secured a pre-contract to move elsewhere.
It is stated that several clubs have been after the Les Bleus attacker, he has mainly been destined to move to the Premier League and Man Utd are willing to agree a deal to take him to Old Trafford for free.
The 27-capped international currently earns around £215,000-a-week with the Catalan club (The Sun) and has spent a lot of time out injured.
Dembele was a superstar for Borussia Dortmund under the management of current Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel and MD claim that the German boss has enough economic power to bring the player to Stamford Bridge.
Last season, the Frenchman scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists for Barca under Ronald Koeman and he was in and out of the lineup due to fitness concerns. This term, he was absent for the first three months and made his first appearance in November 2021.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds in the coming weeks.
