Man United are linked with several top central defenders and the latest name in the lime light is that of Issa Diop.
According to Sky Sports News, Man Utd are willing to offer £45million plus a player to hire the services of the French center half.
Today, the British outlet have claimed that West Ham United are willing to sell the 22-year-old star for a fee worth £60million. It is mentioned that the Hammers want a player from United but the Red Devils are not prepared to give them the player they want.
Transfer: Report – Man Utd best placed to agree signing of £50million star despite competition
Diop featured in 33 games in the Premier League last season and helped the team finish 10th in the table. The Hammers conceded 55 goals in the last league campaign, only one more than Manchester United.
The French international is 6 ft 3 and he is a major threat in the attacking third from set-piece situations. He managed to score two goals last term.
As far as his international career is concerned, Diop was a key member of the squad that won the U-19 European Championships in 2016 and so far he has played 6 games for the U-21 team.
Well, Sky Sports have neither talked about the player that United are willing to offer nor mentioned the player that West Ham are looking to sign from the 20-time English champions.
Last season, majority of our central defenders were inconsistent but since the appointment of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Swedish international Victor Lindelof has been the most improved center back.
We have an overcrowded central defense as United also have Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo.
Apart from Lindelof, I would not mind if one or more of those defenders mentioned above depart the club if we can actually get a quality center half, who would be able to fix our defensive issues once and for all.
