Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Man Utd boss

Portuguese international Bruno Fernandes is linked with a move away from Sporting CP and Man United have been linked with him for quite some time.

Yesterday, we covered a report (via The Mail) claiming that the Red Devils are clear to secure the signing of the 24-year-old attacking midfielder, who is valued at £50million by the Primeira Liga club.

Transfer: Star can expect £91million contract at Man Utd – Woodward will stop at nothing

Now, as per Correio da Manha, French champions PSG and Spanish giants Atletico Madrid have entered the race as well but Man United are best placed to hire the services of the Seleccao attacking midfielder.

The renowned Portuguese outlet have claimed that the player’s departure is likely and Sporting want to accelerate his exit.

I’ve talked about the stats, how good Bruno Fernandes is and why United need a CAM like him in my previous posts. So, I would focus on the latest competition that United are facing to get his signing done.

Bruno Fernandes featured in the Europa League for Sporting CP last season and therefore, moving to a Champions League club this summer could be an attraction for him.

It must be taken into consideration that PSG and Atletico Madrid have regularly featured in the Champions League and next season, the two top clubs will once again take part in the Europe’s elite competition.

On the other hand, Man United finished 6th in the table and therefore, in the next campaign, they will feature in the second tier tournament of European football in the form of the Europa League.

In their exclusive story, Correio da Manha have not explained why United are still best placed to lure Fernandes despite interest from CL clubs. May be he really wants to play in the Premier League, or may be the PL giants are offering him a huge pay package, or may be the Red Devils are in advanced discussions with the Portuguese club.

Let’s see what happens in the coming days. We’ll keep you updated.

  1. I don’t know what Man U is doing in the transfer market? Every player is linked to Man U without the board taken action. This Bruno of a player has been there for Man U to complete his signing but nothing is happening. Man U will be there another club will complete his signing.
By now Man U should have signed 3 to 4 players, just like Real Madrid.I don’t know if we’re waiting for competitions from other clubs before we start signing.
As Pogba is leaving, we need a player that is better than him or almost like him. No center back, no midfielder and no forward so far.
Apart from Daniel James from Swansea, we have not completed any signing, even though we said we are rebuilding.
For me, we need to buy not less that 6 good players for to compete favourably in the EPL and Europa next season.

  2. Out: Pogba, Martial, Lukaku, Matic,, Young, Jones, Darmian.
In: Fernandes, Joao Felix Or Lozano, Ndidi, Tuanzebe, Diop, Doucoure, Blind, Celso, Haller To Sum The List. E D Woodward Out, As He’s To Slow In Negotiation.
