Manchester United have been linked with Kalidou Koulibaly almost every summer for the past few years and they are still after him.
According to a story covered by Corriere dello Sport (press report provided below), Napoli are in a difficult economic situation and failure to qualify for the UEFA Champions League has not helped.
Transfer: Man Utd prepared to bid £80million, would like signing sealed in days – Report
In such a scenario, the Italian outlet have mentioned that the Naples based side might sell key players and the names of Fabian Ruiz and Koulibaly are mentioned in the report.
As far as the African central defender is concerned, CdS claim that back in 2018, the Red Devils made an offer of 108 million euros to hire his services. However, the move was rejected and now they are regretting the decision because the experienced star could leave for cheap this summer.
It is further stated that even now Man Utd’s coveted goal is to sign the 29-year-old star to strengthen the backline at Old Trafford and he could finally be lured for a fee of £51million.
Last season, Napoli had the second best defensive record in the Serie A and Koulibaly was the leader of the defense. He helped the team keep 12 clean sheets but unfortunately, they dropped points on the final day of the season and Juventus leapfrogged them to qualify for the Europe’s elite competition.
The two time Senegalese Footballer of the Year has the quality and the experience to improve Ole’s defense and a move to Old Trafford would allow the player to once again play in the Champions League.
In your opinion, should Man Utd spend £51million to finally sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli?
No! Not Koulibaly ! He is the same type of a player as Maguire
They are like a tree trunks. For them to turn in any direction takes a long, long time . Some say, that they can stop a bus , but the bus first have to find them and hit them ,not the other way around. #1 choice would’ be Varane or Pau.
