Manchester United must improve things in the midfield this summer and the latest name in the limelight is that of Fabian Ruiz.

The Spanish international’s current contract will expire in less than a year and as per Il Mattino, Napoli have been trying to renew a new deal.

Transfer: Man Utd move to close £67million signing in days, prepared to agree terms – Report

The renowned Italian media outlet have mentioned that Man Utd have submitted an offer that has made the La Roja star push for a move away from the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium outfit.

Ruiz does not intend to discuss the renewal with the Naples based side, who are now ready to act strongly.

Club president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has made it clear that a fee of 25 million euros (£20.8million) would be needed to sell the player and if the asking price is not met then the Spaniard will have to sit down and discuss new terms.

If the 26-year-old refuses to negotiate a fresh contract then Napoli could opt to keep him out of the squad and that would be detrimental to the player’s chances of playing at the World Cup.

Ruiz is a versatile talent. He can effectively play as a defensive midfielder and also as a creative central midfielder.

Last season, the 15-capped international made 22 appearances as a CM and 15 appearances as a DM and managed to directly contribute in 12 goals in all competitions (7 goals and 5 assists).

This summer, Man Utd have lost CM, Pogba, and DM, Matic, for £0 and must replace the experienced duo. In your view, should they offer £20.8million to sign Fabian Ruiz?
