Manchester United are one step away from getting Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan after the clubs agreed on the transfer worth of £40 million.
Jose Mourinho tracked the Croatian international for the last few weeks, and the former Wolfsburg player will reportedly fly to the United States to complete the move with the Red Devils. Despite Inter asked for Anthony Martial to be the part of the deal, it looks like they will settle with cash so Mourinho will keep Martial at Old Trafford, at least for the time being.
Perisic wanted to join United in order to play the Champions League, but Inter were reluctant to sell and stood firm with the £40 million valuation. The 28-year-old will become Mourinho’s third signing this summer after the club already secured transfers for Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku.
Jose Mourinho is still hunting Nemanja Matic and Eric Dier but the Premier League rivals Chelsea and Tottenham are not interested in selling. Matic’s future will be decided in the next few days, and the player favors the move to Old Trafford, but Antonio Conte and Chelsea’s hierarchy will have the final say after all.
Ivan Perisic recorded 20 goals and 18 assists in 79 matches for Inter, while the last season, he had 11 goals and 11 assists in 36 games in Serie A.
