According to The Sun, Manchester United will agree a £100m deal for Anthony Martial to leave the club this summer. The 22-year-old has struggled for form and playing time in the last 12 months and could be on the move after his agent recently revealed Martial was considering an Old Trafford exit.
Martial has made 136 appearances in all competitions since joining United from AS Monaco in 2015 but his future is uncertain after losing his place in the starting lineup last season. The French international was substituted on or substituted off in 25 of 30 Premier League games in 2017/18, with Alexis Sanchez getting the nod from manager Jose Mourinho since his January-arrival.
This has led to a lot of talk about Martial potentially leaving the club. His deal at Old Trafford has 12 months remaining and he was recently left out of France’s 23-man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. Something needs to change for the attacker to get his playing career back on track and United might facilitate his departure for the right price.
Previous reports have suggested the Red Devils were keen to keep Martial, but The Sun say United would agree a £100m deal with a suitor. Whether a side meets that asking price for somebody not commanding a starting place for club and country, however, remains to be seen.
