In Britain, Sky Sports report that the Old Trafford club are now close to sealing the signing of the Primeira Liga attacking midfielder after agreeing a fee worth £68million. It is mentioned that the player’s medical with Man Utd could happen today.
Similarly, as per The Guardian, the 25-year-old star is set to join Man Utd for an initial price of £46.5m and further £21.2m in add-ons. They reported that Fernandes is set to agree personal terms with the club.
Let’s hope that an official announcement is made soon to finally get his capture done. It has been an annoying winter transfer window but the frustration would have reached its peak if Barcelona would have beaten us to the player’s signature.
We have to face Man City tonight (Carabao Cup) and Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Saturday. So, even if we complete the deal in time before the weekend, it is likely that the Portuguese international would not be ready to compete against Wolves.
In such a scenario, we can expect Fernandes to make his debut for Man Utd when they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on 17th February.
