French journalist Loic Tanzi has revealed that AS Monaco have enquired over the services of Manchester United forward Anthony Martial. The 21-year-old managed just 18 league starts during Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge, contributing four goals and six assists.
Martial has been linked with potential moves to the likes of Inter Milan, and Tottenham Hotspur this summer and it appears Monaco have approached United over the possibility of re-signing the Frenchman. Martial is not the sole Premier League player on their radar with Arsenal and Chelsea contract rebels Alexis Sanchez and Diego Costa also on their wishlist.
“Monaco have enquired about Diego Costa, A. Martial and Alexis Sanchez. The search for a striker leads to talks with [Kasper] Dolberg,” the RMC and SFR reporter wrote on Twitter as translated by The Express.

Martial has shown signs of improvement since his first pre-season with United over the summer where he contributed a goal and three assists. He has since contributed two goals and an assist while coming on as a substitute in the Premier League, and Mourinho recently praised him for playing with the right attitude on the field.
Judging by the manager’s comments, Martial is unlikely to push for an exit regardless of his limited playing time, and the Monaco link could be treated as just speculation in the final days of the transfer window.
