Manchester United are linked with various proven quality players in the winter transfer window but now a young starlet is in the lime light as well.
According to an exclusive report covered by Mirror Sport, the Red Devils have made an offer worth £12.5million in a bid to beat competition and seal the signing of teenage sensation Jude Bellingham.
Transfer: £59.5million attacker very close to agreeing Manchester United move
The British source have claimed that the youngster has been scouted by some of the biggest clubs in Europe but Man Utd are in pole position to secure his signing.
Bellingham is just 16 and already he has made 23 appearances in the Championship for Birmingham’s first team. Not only that, the teenager has already netted 3 goals for the club and provided an assist as well.
Naturally, he is a central midfielder but Spanish coach Pep Clotet have used him in a number of midfield positions and even in the attacking third when needed.
United allowed Fellaini to leave in the winter transfer window last year and Herrera left us in the summer transfer window. The duo should have been replaced but Solskjaer did not splash the cash to strengthen the midfield department in the summer and so far, he has been inactive in the winter window.
The midfield should be reinforced this month but in your view, should we seal the signing of Bellingham? I’m not sure the versatile midfielder, who is now a regular starter in the Championship, would be able get regular first team football soon in the Premier League if he ends up moving to Old Trafford.
In such a scenario, the English U-17 player wants to stay put to build up his experience before moving elsewhere (Mirror Sport).
