Jack Grealish goal vs Man Utd

Manchester United were interested in signing Jack Grealish last summer but they did not make any official offer for the playmaker and Aston Villa ended up agreeing a new deal worth £140,000-a-week to extend his stay (The Athletic).

Now, Old Trafford legend, Roy Keane has backed the club to finally sign the England international to strengthen the squad for next season.

Transfer: £40million star backed to agree Manchester United move

The retired Irish international told Sky Sports News:

“I’d go with Jack Grealish. I feel United are still short of that special player. I think Grealish would give them that and I feel he would enjoy playing at Old Trafford.”

“The fans would love him. What I admire about Jack is he’s got great courage on the football pitch. He always wants the ball in tight areas. We’ve seen over the last year or two his end product has improved. He’s an excellent player”.

Keane also urged the Red Devils to sign Harry Kane to reinforce the strike-force and stated that the two attacking players would cost around £200million.

Furthermore, the former captain believes that Ole Gunnar Solskjkaer needs to strengthen the defense by signing a center half as well but improving the attack should me the main priority.

Grealish had the most goals and assists for Villa last season and without his top performances, Dean Smith’s men would have been relegated. Not to forget, he scored a sublime curling goal at Old Trafford last term.

As far as this season is concerned, the 25-year-old playmaker scored 6 goals and provided 12 assists in 22 league games before suffering an injury that has kept him out of the squad since February 2021.

The Three Lions star can play anywhere in the attacking midfield and even in the central midfield if needed. In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to finally sign him this summer?
