Manchester United were heavily linked with a move to sign Ousmane Dembele in the summer transfer window but in the end, the player stayed at the Nou Camp.
If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are still interested in luring the French international and could make an offer to sign him in January.
Transfer: Report – Man United pushing to sign £59million versatile player – Face competition
According to Mundo Deportivo, Man Utd are persistently looking to capture the Les Bleus star from the Catalan giants and could move in to hire his services in the winter transfer window.
The Spanish source claim that Barca’s move to sign Depay collapsed because Dembele decided to stay and the La Liga giants will once again look to lure the Dutchman in the winter.
Dembele was world class for Dortmund in the 2016-17 campaign but since moving to Barca, he has mostly spent time on the treatment table. Last season, he managed to only make 5 appearances in the league.
This season, he has warmed the bench more often than not because Dutch manager Ronald Koeman has preferred young Ansu Fati in his starting lineup. In all competitions, thus far, the 23-year-old star has started 4 games and directly contributed in as many goals (3 goals and 1 assist).
Man United failed to lure a right winger in the summer transfer window and they really need to improve the offense in January. Do you think they should make an offer to sign Ousmane Dembele?
The World Cup winning star’s current contract with Barcelona will expire in the summer of 2022 and at the moment, he earns a salary of around £215,000-a-week star (The Sun).
