Report – Man United pushing to sign £59million versatile player – Face competition

Last year, we broke the bank to make Harry Maguire the most expensive defender in the history of the game. Unfortunately, the England international has been so inconsistent that we are in search of a new center half.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are interested in hiring the services of Austrian international David Alaba.

Transfer: Man Utd ready to offer significant deal to sign £36million star – Face competition

According to an exclusive story covered by FC Inter News yesterday, Man Utd are pushing for some time to secure the signing of the Bayern Munich defender.

The well-known Italian outlet have mentioned that there is serious competition to lure the 28-year-old, who will be out of contract next summer and has so far rejected contract renewal at the Allianz Arena.

It is claimed that the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona are also looking to sign the versatile player.

Alaba used to mainly play in the left back position for the Bavarians but in recent years, he has mostly played in the central defense. He has even played in the central midfield and attacking roles for his country whenever needed.

The 73-capped international is a proven quality defender, who has won every major prize with the German giants. Capable of crossing and striking the ball well, he is a threat in the attacking third as well.

Last night in the defeat against Istanbul Basaksehir, we were at sixes and sevens at the back and opened up easily. It was baffling to see Demba Ba clear through before the half way line for the opening goal and it just shows that United do not have a leader who can command the back-line effectively.

In such a scenario, Man Utd should press to sign a top star and £59million-rated (KZ) David Alaba would be a brilliant addition.

  1. Players or defenders may not be the actual problems of Man Utd. Holistically, Ed Woodward is, as he wants to be more popular than the club itself. He wants to situate himself as a bigger phenomenon than the club, thereby relegating the club to mediocrity. He wants a manager he must control. A manager that must dance to his tone like Ole.If you don’t ,you face the sack, like Mourinho, VanGaal, and the Scott who barely lasted 9 months. Get a quality manager of note, support and allow him operate freely. Ole is not ideal manager for the club. He is merely there to worship Ed Woodward and his ignorance.
