Transfer: Man Utd ‘leading’, ready to move ‘big’ to sign £102million star – Report

Teenage sensation, Mainoo, turned out to be the best central midfielder last season, better than the likes of McTominay, Eriksen and even Casemiro.

So, Man Utd need to splash the cash to strengthen things in the center of the park and reports indicate they are ready to sign Gavi from Barcelona.

According to Spanish source, Nacional, Jim Ratcliffe is willing to bet heavily to hire the services of the Spanish international from the Blaugrana.

The Catalan outlet claim Man Utd are ready to pay £68.2m (80 million euros) to convince Barca president, Laporta, to sell Gavi.

Barca may consider selling their prized asset keeping in view the weak financial situation of the club.

The 19-year-old has already made 27 appearances for the senior national side and back in 2022, he won the Kopa Trophy.

The creative central midfielder, who has also featured on the left flank, was a key member of the Barca squad that won the La Liga in the 2022-23 campaign.

Moreover, Gavi directly contributed in all three goals against Real Madrid to win the Super Copa title for the Nou Camp side.

However, last season, the youngster suffered a major cruciate ligament injury in November 2023 and since then, he has not been in action.

Gavi is expected to be back before the start of the new campaign. Would you like to see him partner Mainoo in the central midfield for Man Utd?

Should Ratcliffe pay £68.2m to get his signing done?
