Manchester United have so far signed the likes of Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window to reinforce their attack and defense respectively.
Now, reports suggest that the Red Devils are close to securing their third summer signing by hiring the services of Sean Longstaff from Newcastle United.
Transfer: Report – Man Utd hottest on the chase, £72million enough to get signing done
The Guardian have claimed that Steve Bruce is poised to become the next manager of the Magpies after the departure of Spanish boss Rafael Benitez. It is mentioned that key players like Perez and Rondon have already left Tyneside and now Longstaff is on the verge of moving to Man United.
Former Liverpool manager, Benitez, handed Longstaff his first team debut last season and under his guidance, the England international excelled.
The central midfielder started in eight games in the Premier League, netted his first goal for the first team vs Burnley and provided a crucial assist vs champions Manchester City.
Moreover, the 21-year-old midfielder also found the net vs Blackburn in the FA Cup.
A week back, Sky Sports News reported that Newcastle United want more than £50million for their youngster.
Without doubt, the above mentioned price tag is extremely high taking into consideration that the player has played very few games and he has been out of action since March due to a knee injury.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds.
