Estadio Deportivo further claimed that United are very interested in signing the former Paris Saint-Germain player and they will be even more interested if Paul Pogba ends up leaving Old Trafford. It is also stated the negotiations could accelerate in the coming days.
The Red Devils have lost a versatile midfielder in the form of Ander Herrera this summer and therefore, a quality player should be signed to replace the Spanish international.
Last season, Pogba was criticized a lot for his inconsistency but the World Cup winner ended the campaign as our top scorer as he found the net 16 times.
Lo Celso is a versatile talent, who can effectively play in multiple midfield positions. Naturally, the La Albiceleste star is a creative central midfielder but last season, Betis also utilized him in the defensive and attacking midfield roles.
In all competitions, he started 38 games for the Spanish side, scored 16 goals and also provided 6 assists.
For the national side, the La Liga star made his senior international debut in 2017 and so far, in 13 appearances, he has only scored once. He has traveled with the squad for the Copa America and Argentina will face their opening game against Colombia in less than 2 hours.
Few days back, the two time World champions defeated Nicaragua 5-1 in a friendly contest. Lo Celso played for full 90 minutes and provided an assist. Let’s see how well he does in the Copa America. Not to forget, in the last two editions, Argentina were beaten in the final by Chile.
