Manchester United are consistently linked with Ousmane Dembele, whose relationship with current club Barcelona has been torn apart lately.
The Red Devils have been after the French international for a long time and the latest reports indicate that they even reached an agreement to hire his services back in 2020.
Transfer: Man Utd ready to agree signing of £17million star before deadline – Report
According to Sport (press image provided below), Man Utd closed the deal with Barca to sign the player on a one-year loan in the summer transfer window of 2020 and even agreed a fee worth £67million (80 million euros) to make the move permanent.
However, the renowned Spanish news source have mentioned that Dembele’s representative, Moussa Sissoko, rejected the deal claiming that he did not like the structure of the operation. Why? Because he was not getting a decent commission.
It is stated that when the Catalan side signed the Les Bleus playmaker in a deal worth 145 million euros, his agent only received a 5% commission and the Nou Camp outfit refused to pay a penny more.
So, this time, he demanded a massive commission for renewal that infuriated the La Liga side and he will do the same when the player moves to a new club.
Dembele was a major hit in the German Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund but since moving to Spain, he has mostly spent time on the injury table. Sport claim that for the consistent fitness concerns, his entourage has blamed Barcelona for their methods.
The World Cup-winning star could end up leaving before the closure of the winter transfer window. Will he finally end up at Man Utd? Only time will tell.
So why dont players get rid of the vermin called agents. It really is in the players hands.
