Report – Man United lead to seal £38.5million signing – Bid imminent

Goncalo Inacio - Portugal

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United seem serious about signing Sporting CP center half, Goncalo Inacio.

Last night, we covered a story (via The Mirror) claiming that Red Devils are in a prime position to lure the youngster in the summer transfer window. Today, an update coming from Portugal suggests that a Man United bid is imminent.

Transfer: Report – Man United told £94million offer will be accepted

According to A Bola, the Old Trafford outfit lead Newcastle United to sign the 20-year-old defender. The 20-time English champions have a plan to convince the Liga Nos side and they are expected to make an offer.

The famous media outlet have mentioned that Man United are aware that the Lions will only sell their prized asset if the release clause of £38.5million (45 million euros) is activated.

It is stated that the PL club could offer 40 million euros in cash and the remaining 5 million euros in add-ons to meet the demand set by the Jose Alvalade outfit.

Despite spending millions over the years on luring defenders like Bailly, Lindelof, Varane, Maguire, Telles, Shaw, Dalot and Wan-Bissaka, Man Utd’s backline has been highly inconsistent.

In the current campaign, the fallen giants have only kept 10 clean sheets in 48 games and have conceded 68 goals. We surely do not deserve to play in Europe’s premier competition next season.

Ten Hag will need ample time to clear out the mess and bring glory days back and the Dutch manager must be backed adequately in the transfer window.

In your opinion, who should Man United sign to strengthen the defense?
