Report – Man United made move to sign £35million star

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United are looking to sign a new goal keeper in the summer transfer window and Ajax’s Andre Onana is in the lime light.

According to a report covered by Duncan Castles for Daily Record, David De Gea’s future at Old Trafford is uncertain and in such a scenario, United are in the hunt for a new goalie.

The renowned journalist has claimed that the Red Devils made a move to sign the £35million-rated Ajax star but the Dutch club rejected the offer.

Transfer: £75million star interested in signing for Man United

The Cameroonian international had a fantastic campaign and won the major domestic titles with the Eredivise side. In 33 league outings, he only conceded 27 goals and kept 16 clean sheets as well.

The 23-year-old was impressive in the Champions League as well but in the second leg of the semi final against Spurs, his performance was not up to the mark and Ajax were ousted from the competition.

What do you think? Is Onana good enough to replace De Gea?

In all fairness, De Gea has been our best star in the post-Ferguson era but in the last campaign, he was one of the team’s worst players without a shadow of a doubt.

The Spaniard made a number of blunders, conceded 54 goals in the entire Premier League campaign and only managed to keep 7 clean sheets.

Therefore, I think that if the former Atletico Madrid shot stopper is really considering a move away from the Red Devils, then Solskjaer should let him leave and adequately replace him.
