Report – Man United reach total agreement with club to secure signing – Contract to be sorted

Old Trafford

Manchester United have secured any key signing this summer but Ten Hag should soon be able to strengthen his squad if reports are to be believed.

As per The Athletic, Man United have reached a total agreement with Feyenoord worth 17 million euros to secure the signing of Tyrell Malacia.

Transfer: Man United agree £65million contract to secure signing – Report

The famous news source have mentioned that now, the contract must be sorted with the player but there is a slight complication.

It is reported that the 22-year-old left-back does not want to utilize agent, Ali Dursun, to complete his move to Old Trafford and instead operates with his father. Still, The Athletic claim that the deal is on track to be sealed.

Man United had one of the worst defensive records in the Premier League last term and the backline must be improved this summer.

As far as the left-back position is concerned, Luke Shaw has been our first choice for years, which is surprising because the England international has been highly injury-prone.

Last season, in the Premier League, the former Southampton man only started 19 games. He missed 3 games due to a head injury, 2 due to a hamstring concern, 2 after contracting coronavirus and 7 games due to a leg issue.

On the other hand, Brazilian star, Alex Telles, has mainly been inconsistent since moving to the club in October 2020. He has mostly warmed the bench and started just 26 PL games in the last two campaigns.

Malacia made 32 appearances in the Eredivisie last season, scored a goal and provided 4 assists. He was a key member of the squad that reached the final of the Europa Conference League (lost to Mourinho’s Roma).

The youngster has already earned 5 caps for the senior Dutch national side. Would he be a hit at Old Trafford? Only time will tell.
