Manchester United have to improve things in the center of the park and the latest name in the lime light is Portuguese international Vitinha.
According to a report covered by O Jogo today (news image provided below), the 22-year-old’s current market value as per Transfermarkt is 30 million euros but Porto have made it clear that he will only be sold if the release clause of 40 million euros (£34.4million) is activated.
The news source have mentioned that super agent, Jorge Mendes, has met the representatives of Manchester United and Barcelona to make them aware of the asking price.
It is stated that the Premier League and the Spanish side have expressed that they are ready to agree the £34.4million fee required to sign the 22-year-old midfielder.
O Jogo claim that the Liga Nos champions expect the release clause to be met but for now, they have not received any official offer.
Over at Record, it is reported that a top Premier League club is prepared to the secure the signing of Vitinha for £34.4million and the only English side mentioned in their article is Man United.
The youngster is a versatile talent, who can play in multiple midfield positions. Last season, he made 47 appearances for Porto and directly contributed in 9 goals (4 goals and 5 assists).
Under the management of Sergio Conceicao, he regularly started in the Dragon’s domestic double winning campaign.
At Man United, luring De Jong is proving to be difficult and Barcelona have been asking for a huge fee of over £68million (Mirror Sport). Vitinha could be a cheaper alternative. In your opinion, who should Ten Hag sign to strengthen the midfield department this summer?
