Manchester United are looking to improve their goalkeeping options and are ready to move in to sign Spanish international, David Raya.

According to The Telegraph, Man Utd are ready to battle the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham to secure the signing of the Brentford star in the summer.

Transfer: Deal close – Man Utd lead to sign £70,000 a week player – Report

The famous British news outlet have mentioned that the 27-year-old is widely regarded as one of the finest distributors in the Premier League, who is highly praised by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

Raya’s current contract with the Bees will expire in the summer of 2024 and it is reported that a fee of £20million could be needed to get his signing done.

Last season, the La Furia Roja shot stopper made 24 appearances in the league and helped Brentford keep 8 clean sheets.

Back in March 2022, he made his senior international debut under the guidance of Luis Enrique and so far, he has earned 2-caps for Spain.

Man Utd signed Martin Dubravka on loan in the summer and he has recently returned to Newcastle United. To replace him, Ten Hag opted to lure Jack Butland on temporary basis.

The Telegraph claim the Old Trafford club are expected to agree a new deal with No. 1 goalie, David De Gea but still want to improve the position.

In your opinion, should Man Utd spend £20million for a back-up goal keeper?

  1. Only $20million for David Raya is an insult for the 3rd best keeper in the Prem.
And why would he leave to go to Man Utd as a back up keeper, he’s too good for that due to his distribution on top of his saves stats. He does have a great attitude as well so would be ideal for United but not until the summer please and a higher fee! Yep I’m a Bees fan!!
